Accessing our GPs
Costs
Residents with a valid Medicare or DVA health card will be bulk billed with no out of pocket expenses for clinically necessary services or referral letters.
Private fees apply when there are no Medicare rebates available for a particular type of service. Such examples being but not exclusive to VCAT forms, insurance forms, letters requested by lawyers and third parties, emails, meetings and telephone calls outside the patient-doctor consultation when the patient is not present. Such fees will be notified and discussed with in advance.
Who are we?
Having worked in after hours and in daytime general practice we identified a significant pitfall in the care of patients.
Daytime doctors did not have the time to provide high quality care to residents of aged care facilities and work was being referred to after hours doctors unfamiliar with the patients’ medical histories leading to poor continuity of care for elderly residents.
We formed Doctor Aged Care with 4 GPs 2 years ago and have taken on several more GPs since to meet the increasing demand across Melbourne for our unique type of service. We cover 10% of the nursing homes in Melbourne and are constantly expanding.
We continue to provide the best quality care and are constantly taking on the care of more and more patients and recruiting more and more doctors to work with us.
We take great pride on our work and aim to be the best at what we do.
We make time to meet and speak to families and loved ones, within the realms of confidentiality.
We develop a good relationship with the aged care facility to ensure there are no gaps in the communication of patients.
